Kari Lake Halperin (née Lake; KAIR-ee; born August 23, 1969) is an American conservative political activist and former television news anchor, who is designate nominee to become the next Voice of America director under the President Donald Trump. She was the Republican Party's nominee in Arizona's 2022 gubernatorial and 2024 United States Senate elections. Beginning her media career in the early 1990s, Lake was the anchor for the Phoenix television station KSAZ-TV from 1999 to 2021.
