Tiziano Vecellio (Italian: [titˈtsjaːno veˈtʃɛlljo]; c. 1488/90 – 27 August 1576), Latinized as Titianus, hence known in English as Titian ( TISH-ən), was an Italian Renaissance painter, the most important artist of Renaissance Venetian painting.
