Sebastian Hartmann (born 7 July 1977) is a German politician of the Social Democratic Party (SPD) who has been serving as a member of the German Bundestag since 2013, representing the Rhein-Sieg-Kreis district. From 2018 until 2021, he also served as chairman of the SPD North Rhine-Westphalia. Early life and career. Hartmann was born 1977 in Oberhausen and, on a scholarship of the Friedrich Ebert Foundation, studied jurisprudence without achieving an academic degree. From 2011 until 2013, Hartmann worked in the staff of Martin Schulz. Political career. Hartmann joined the SPD in 1993.
