Emomali Rahmon (Tajik: Эмомали Раҳмон; born Emomali Sharipovich Rahmonov, born 5 October 1952) is a Tajik politician who has served as the President of Tajikistan since 1994, having previously lead the country as Chairman of the Supreme Assembly from 1992 to 1994 (the post of president was temporarily abolished during this period). .
