Magnus Nygren (born June 7, 1990) is a Swedish professional ice hockey defenceman who currently plays for Färjestad BK of the Swedish Hockey League (SHL). He was selected in the fourth round, 113th overall, by the Montreal Canadiens of the National Hockey League (NHL) in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft. Playing career. On May 21, 2013, he was signed to a two-year entry-level contract with the Montreal Canadiens. During his first season in North America in 2013–14, Nygren was assigned to American Hockey League affiliate, the Hamilton Bulldogs.
