Leicester City Football Club is a professional football club based in the city of Leicester, East Midlands, England. The club competes in the Premier League, the top tier of English football, following promotion from the 2023–24 EFL Championship as league champions. The club was founded in 1884 as Leicester Fosse F.C, and became known as Leicester City in 1919.
