However, he has continued to conduct. In June 2025 he appeared at the Granada Festival in a concert marking the 100th anniversary of the revised version of El Amor Brujo. Biography. Mena was born in Vitoria-Gasteiz, in the Basque Country, where he began his music studies at the Vitoria-Gasteiz Conservatory.
