1. The Opening (Al-Fatihah الفاتحة )
This is a Prayer for Guidance.Sypnosis from The Clear Quran book by Dr. Mustafa Khattab:This Meccan sûrah (which means chapter that has been revealed in Mecca) is recited a total of seventeen times in the five daily prayers, serves as the cornerstone of the Quran. It sums up the relationship between the Creator and His creation, Allah’s undisputed authority in this world and the Hereafter, and humanity’s constant dependence on Him for guidance and assistance. The underlying theme is to acknowledge that He is the only god worthy of worship—a simple truth which the disbelievers fail to grasp. All fundamental principles encapsulated in this sûrah are spelled out in the rest of the Quran.

The Clear Quran
A sincere effort to spread the words of the Quran to those whose hearts are open to listen and learn. Khalifah Taniji's recitation is used here and the English translation is from The Clear Quran by Dr. Mustafa Khattab. I have taken a preference to the recitation by Taniji because of his crystal clear clarity in his tajwid and as for the English translation, I have found the ones translated by Dr. Mustafa Khatab to be easier to understand, especially in the contemporary way that English is being used today.
