Not everyone will have heard of the Seychelles, but those who have associate it with white sand and luxury holidays. What most people don’t know is that Seychelles has a dark history associated with slavery since the islands were first settled 250 years ago, and for the next few decades the islands would be used as a strategically important base for the storage and transportation of Africans captured on the mainland.
