Susan Thixton is a dedicated pet food safety advocate fighting for change in pet food regulation and quality in the USA. Susan started the website Truth About Pet Food in 2004 which offers free resources to pet parents globally on pet food safety and regulations, ingredients, testing, recalls, laws, and more and also provides support on what to do if you think your pets food made them sick. In 2013 Susan founded the Association for Truth in Pet Food to give a voice to consumers and advocate for safe pet food, proper regulation of pet food and transparency in pet food labelling. Susan published Buyer Beware, The crimes, lies and truth about pet food in 2011 which sheds light on some of the shocking facts behind the all too familiar food we feed our pets and provides insight into why we should be taking a closer look beyond the bowl.
