Episode 13: Emerson, Lake & Palmer
'Fanfare For The Prog Man'
From the ashes of King Crimson, The Nice and The Crazy World Of Arthur Brown arose one of Rock’s first ‘supergroups’. Keyboardist; Keith Emerson, Bassist; Greg Lake and Drummer; Carl Palmer took their experience of playing Rock, combined it with Emerson’s passion for Classical music & added Lake’s talents for songwriting and arrived at what would become one of Prog’s most important and successful acts: Emerson, Lake & Palmer.
Laz and Felipe dive into the world of Prog as they discuss the pretentiousness of Prog, the influence of Classical composers on Emerson’s sound, the instrumentation of the band & how this differed from the norm and what critics & fans alike made of Prog’s first supergroup!
