Crest Podcast Ep20 - Angus Ruddle
Long known as a charger and a legend of Wales' underground surf scenes, Porthcawl's Angus Ruddle is a character whose tales, advice and opinions are the stuff of fable. A consultant vascular surgeon by day (or night!), 'Gus' applies the same personality traits which have taken him to the top of an elite profession to his pursuit of action sports. In the water, he's well known for chasing down mountainous waves - and on land... well, the situation is no different. In fact, if we talk mountains, then he has bagged the holy grail. In this exceptionally candid interview, Gus tells Tom and Rhino about summiting Everest, crossing Afghanistan on horseback and other adventures both in and out of the medical scrubs. He was a certain booking for Crest from early days, anyway, having been present for two of the top 'surf trip nightmare' tales submitted for Episodes 7 and 8. Like his life, Gus' appearance on the podcast is entertaining, unpredictable and inspiring to the last.
