Episode 123: Andrea Knabel
Andrea Knabel is a mother of two who mysteriously vanished in August 2019 from Louisville, Kentucky. You may have heard about Andrea’s case as there was a documentary released about her disappearance. The documentary is called Finding Andrea on Discovery Plus.
For this story, I spoke to Erin Knabel, who is Andrea’s sister. She was the last person known to have seen her sister.
August 13, 2019 is the official date of Andrea’s disappearance. After Andrea got locked out of her mother’s house, she walked to her sister Erin’s home. Andrea was staying with her mother at the time. The sisters lived within walking distance. After Andrea arrived at her sister’s home she was agitated about not being able to get into her mother’s house. Andrea then left her sister's home and began to walk home.
Erin watched her sister walk away from her house and that was the last anyone has seen of Andrea. Erin believes it’s highly possible that one of Andrea’s shady friends may know something about her disappearance.
Erin said her sister was reliable, kind, loving and an amazing big sister. Erin and her family have worked with law enforcement and brought in a private eye to help find Andrea. Although Erin wasn’t completely satisfied with the documentary about her sister, she said she still hopes it will bring attention to her sister’s case and reach someone who can provide an answer to what happened to Andrea.
What happened to Andrea Knabel? Did she walk away from her life or did someone harm her? If you know anything about Andrea’s whereabouts, I ask that you reach out to the family’s PI or law enforcement and provide a tip. If you would like to provide a tip, please contact PI Tracy Leonard at (502) 618-9337 or the Louisville Police Department at (502) 574-7120.

Catch my Killer
At any given time in the world, there are thousands of unsolved murders. Most of them will never be solved. The first 48 hours of a homicide are the most crucial to an investigation. Eventually, leads dry up, witnesses become less cooperative, and cases go cold (unsolved). Meanwhile, detectives continue receiving new homicide cases which push older ones to the back. After a case goes cold, it quickly becomes yesterday’s news. The public and the media will forget about the crime and move onto the next crime story.
But do you know who won’t forget about a cold case? The victim’s family and friends. They won’t forget because their case is more than a case file or news story. The victims were sons, fathers, mothers, daughters, or friends. Catch my Killer is a podcast that focuses on the victim's surviving family and friends who give a voice to those who no longer have one. If you are listening and can help bring a killer to justice, please call in your tips. Even the smallest clue could be large enough to break a case wide open.
