October Cases Worth Talking About | True Crime Catch Up

2026-10-31

35:29

In this October edition of True Crime Catch Up, Stuart Blues and Adam Lloyd return to discuss some of the stories that have caught their attention, from tragic deaths and shocking acts of violence to cases that raise difficult questions about justice, responsibility and human behaviour.

Stuart looks at the fatal tiger attack at Yorkshire Wildlife Park, the disturbing murder of vulnerable man Michael O'Donnell, who was exploited and killed in his own home, and the tragic case of Reece Radford, who lost his life after stepping in to help a teenage girl. Meanwhile, Adam explores the fatal 1987 car crash involving actor Matthew Broderick in Northern Ireland, as well as the bizarre story of Neil Young (not that one), whose dispute with a colleague over WhatsApp messages escalated into a violent confrontation.

As always, expect plenty of discussion, differing perspectives and a few unexpected talking points as Stuart and Adam catch up on the latest true-crime stories. And, of course, we finish with something a little lighter - our patented animal story!

Where can you listen?

British Murders is a UK true crime podcast exploring both headline making investigations and lesser known cases that deserve to be remembered.

Hosted by Yorkshireman Stuart Blues, the show covers listener suggested cases from across England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland. Each episode examines what happened, how the case unfolded, and the wider social, cultural, and historical context surrounding the crime.

The show covers British crime cases ranging from domestic abuse, coercive control, missing persons, policing failures, miscarriages of justice, and the long-term effects of violent crime on those left behind. With care, balance, and empathy, placing victims, not offenders, at the centre of every story, British Murders focuses on the human cost of murder and the lasting impact on families and communities.

Alongside case deep dives, the podcast features conversations with journalists, authors, campaigners, and criminal justice professionals about responsible true crime storytelling.
