Green Manure
Text Agony Aunt Roz with your Cutflower Questions.
Want to learn more about green manures and how they can help your cutting patch?
Roz Chandler started her flower farming business ten years ago. This podcast is for you if you want to learn more about growing your own cut flowers. Roz will cover various subjects including setting a patch, your soil, manure and compost, seeds and germination, perennials and biannuals, foliage, and so much more.
Green manures are fast-growing plants sown to cover bare soil. Often used in the cutting patch, their foliage smothers weeds and their roots prevent soil erosion. When dug into the ground while still green, they return valuable nutrients to the soil and improve soil structure.
