Matthew McDonald is currently holding the first principal double bass position at the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra and teaches at the University of Music Hanns Eisler. He also regularly performs as a soloist and premiered double bass concertos by Peter Eötvös and Gerald Barry.In this conversation he talks to Dominik about his musical origins, contemporary music, the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra, teaching and many other subjects.
