Today we are exploring a piece of research titled "Your Brain on ChatGPT: Accumulation of Cognitive Debt when Using an AI Assistant for Essay Writing Task." This paper comes from a multidisciplinary team led by Nataliya Kosmyna at the MIT Media Lab. The team conducted an in-depth study to examine the cognitive effects of using large language models, like ChatGPT, in the context of educational essay writing.
