More people than ever, myself included, find that listening to podcasts is one of the most convenient and entertaining ways to consume and digest their favourite topics. I’m a huge gamer and have found several fantastic gaming podcasts I think like-minded people should know about.
There are literally hundreds of podcasts out there, so choosing the right ones can often prove challenging, especially for beginners.
They all explore a broad range of hot topics relating to the digital entertainment industry, such as the latest upcoming releases, walk-throughs, tips and advice, in-depth analysis and reviews, the latest trends and emerging technologies from the industry, and so much more.
My favourite podcasts also tend to have interviews with special guests, offering their unique insights into this exciting and ever-changing digital landscape.
The people who are invited onto these podcasts could be your average listener like me, people who play professionally, or industry leaders, experts, and other interesting characters.
Without further delay, let’s dive straight in to reveal the names of five popular podcasts that every online gamer should check out.
Top 5 podcasts to check out today
If you are an avid gamer like me and enjoy playing anything from action & adventure titles to first-person shooters, casual content, puzzlers, classic table and card favourites, online fruit machines, live dealer content, RPGs, MMORPGs, simulation titles, battle royale, or racing titles, to name just a few popular categories, and you enjoy listening to podcasts and want something gaming-related, you’re in luck.
Here are five of my favourite podcasts that I can recommend checking out. However, I understand that some of these podcasts cover specific areas of the industry, so they may not be to your liking, which is why I have included the names of several other great podcasts below this list.
The top five podcasts include the following:
-
The GamesIndustry.biz Podcast – I would say that this news/discussion podcast is aimed more towards industry professionals and anyone looking for a unique insight covering the latest from this industry
-
Get Played – this is one of my favourites because it’s a less serious podcast with a fun, friendly, comical, and light-hearted approach. Hosts Matt Apodaca and Mick Wiger basically talk about their favourite titles that they’ve played and hope to someday play
-
Kinda Funny Games Daily – this one is similar to the above and regarded by many as the world’s most popular podcast for this particular industry
-
Game Scoop! – with this podcast, you can stay up to date with all the latest weekly news in one podcast episode
-
The Retro Hour – if you love anything retro, then you may want to start with this popular podcast
Honourable mentions
Other top suggestions that I think you should try include Giant Bombcast, Castle Super Beast, RetroGame Squad Podcast, and The Jeff Gerstmann Show. That’s not forgetting WhatsGoodGames, Retronauts, Podcast Unlocked, Critical Role, and Axe of the Blood God: An RPG Podcast.
If that’s not to keep you going, then I can also recommend checking out the ClassicGamingPodcast, TheComputerGameShow, FactorySealedVideoGamePodcasts, Podcasts – Fear the Boot, Electronic Wireless Show, and ExtremeGamingPodcast, to name just a few.
Do any of these podcasts cover iGaming?
Yes. Every now and then, one or more of these popular podcasts will have a segment covering the global multi-billion-dollar iGaming industry and will discuss trusted sites (with the best casino bonuses and free spins) like those currently featured (Duelz, Voodoo Dreams and Dream Vegas) here on this trusted website: www.johnslots.com/en/.
Some of the hottest topics discussed include things like how to use safer gambling tools to become a more responsible gambler, how Megaways work in today’s most popular online fruit machines, and how much today’s biggest progressive jackpots are worth.
They also typically cover the latest industry news and updates, changes in regulations and laws, new payment providers, cryptocurrency and blockchain technology, and how artificial intelligence is used on these sites to make them safer and more engaging for people like me who join these sites, plus so much more.
I’ve also tuned in for certain podcast episodes when they talk about how the KYC (Know Your Customer) account verification process works, how to complete my wagering requirements in as little time as possible to ensure I get the most out of any bonuses I claim, and other useful step-by-step guides about what to expect when signing up to new sites.
Final thoughts
If you want to listen to one or more of these popular podcasts from your Wi-Fi/internet-connected smartphone, tablet, laptop or desktop computer, which can last anywhere from just a few minutes up to a few hours or more at most, then I would suggest trying this website first.
Most podcasts are free to listen to. However, you may find that you need to subscribe to some, and others may require either a one-off fee or a monthly rolling subscription fee, which you can cancel at any time.
When choosing which podcasts to listen to, don’t forget to find out what each one typically covers because some will be more relevant than others to what you would prefer to listen to when it comes to your favourite topic.
